Debit Card Fraud Alerts

Sign up for now to receive text alerts regarding suspicious activity on your debit card. Text alerts provide timely, effective communication if fraudulent activity is suspected on your debit card. After you provide us with your cell phone number, you will be asked to enroll in this optional service via text message.

Q. What if a merchant doesn't have a chip-capable terminal? Will my card work?
A. Yes. Just swipe your card's magnetic stripe, like you would with your old card. Online purchases still work the same way they did with your old card.

Q. When do I swipe? When do I insert?
A. When in doubt, swipe your card. If the terminal is chip-enabled, it will recognize that your card has a chip and prompt you to insert it instead.

Q. What is different about my new card?
A. Your new card features an embedded chip that improves security every time you make a purchase at a chip-enabled terminal. The chip technology creates a unique code for each transaction that is difficult to duplicate, reducing the risk of fraudulent charges on your account.

Q. Does my chip card work at the ATM?
A. Yes. You can still use your card to get cash, check your balance and more.

Q. Where can I use my chip card?
A. Use your chip card at the exact same merchants you do now by inserting the card into card terminals that are chip-enabled or swiping your card at merchant locations that have not yet switched to chip-enabled card terminals. You can also use your card as you did before for online payments, telephone payments, and at ATMs.

  • Do not write your PIN number on your card.

Lost or Stolen Card

If your Cornhusker Bank Debit Card has been lost or stolen please call 402-434-2265 during normal bank hours to report it immediately. If you have a lost or stolen debit card and it is not during normal business hours, please call 1-800-472-3272 to report the missing card.

VISA® Account Updater Service

With VISA® Account Updater Service, you’ll no longer have to worry about changing your recurring or automatic debit or credit card purchases when your card is reissued. When your card is reissued, VISA® will update your payment information with participating merchants when the following events occur:

  • Cornhusker Bank Debit Card is reissued due to normal expiration
  • Cornhusker Bank Debit Card is lost or stolen
  • Cornhusker Bank Debit Card is compromised

Please be advised that merchants are not required to participate in the VISA® Account Updater Service. Only participating merchants will receive the updated information. To avoid service disruption, you should check with the merchant to ensure your card information has been updated.

Your Cornhusker Bank card is automatically enrolled in VISA® Account Updater, at no cost to you. If you wish to opt-out of VISA® Account Updater, you may call Cornhusker Bank Customer Service at 402-434-2265.
